CHARLES BLACKMAN    Australia    1926 -   Alice in Wonderland

The wonderful, dream-like imagery of Blackman's acclaimed ‘Schoolgirl’ and 'Alice in Wonderland' series has been captured in two of his favourite mediums, lithography and silkscreen. His familiar subjects: women, young girls and cats appear in windows doorways and in enchanted gardens, demonstrating his power to make a single image some times sparse, some times austere - but always strong in power and suggestion. “These collections of prints are inspired by some of his greatest and most iconic works painted over the last 5 decades. The images remain so powerful and relevant to the world today.” Ali Yeldham. Some of these rare prints were printed in the 1990’s and early 2000’s in collaboration between Charles Blackman and Master Printmaker Michelle Perry. This is a great opportunity to add to your collection some of these remarkable works by one of Australia’s most popular and acclaimed artists
