Our Provenance

The original Impressions Contemporary Print Galleries opened in 1975 in Melbourne's Toorak Road, South Yarra and then in Sydney's Double Bay. Impresssions also formed a cultural partnership with The Collector’s Lithograph gallery in High Street Armadale, Melbourne.

All these galleries were committed to the display and education of original limited edition prints and exhibited many one man shows by such legendary artists as David Hockney, Joe Tilson, Richard Hamilton and Allen Jones (UK), Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Jim Dine, Gene Davis, Claes Oldenburg (USA) Brett Whitely, John Olsen, Tim Storrier, John Coburn, Alun Leach Jones, Lloyd Rees, Max Miller, Alexander Stitt, John Firth Smith (Australia) Joichi Hoshi, Toko Shinoda, Mitsuhiro Unno, Clifton Karhu and Yoshitoshi Mori (Japan) Daniel Thomas, Senior Curator,  National Gallery of Australia observed that “Impressions Gallery operates with full artistic responsibility and has performed a special educative role in original prints.” We have since established Artnet International, an informed, user-friendly online Fine Art gallery, well-respected for its integrity and commitment to limited editions prints and original works on paper.
